KINGSVILLE, Texas – Ope Ibrahim knocked down the game-winning shot with 19.6 seconds to play and the Texas A&M-Kingsville women's basketball team (3-2) came back from 11 points down in the second half to stun the Texas A&M International Dustdevils (0-5), 46-43, on Tuesday night at the Steinke Physical Education Center in Kingsville, Texas.

In addition to Ibrahim's go-ahead bucket, the Javelinas' comeback was sparked by the play of Angelica Wilson, who recorded her third straight double-double. Her night included a career-high 15 rebounds along with 11 points. Emmeri Archer also chipped in with 11 points.

TAMUK outrebounded their guests, 49-39 and held them to a shooting percentage of 21.4 from three-point range while also holding an edge in second chance points, 13-8.

FIRST QUARTER

A Wilson layup in the opening moments of the game began the scoring and TAMIU tied things up three minutes later. Tenacious defense by both sides kept the score frozen at 2-2 for nearly four minutes before a free-throw-line jumper by Sadie Russell found the twine for the lead. After the Dustdevils closed to within one, Antoinette Shrepee canned a jump shot and with 10 minutes gone, TAMUK led 6-3.

SECOND QUARTER

LaShae Rolle brought the visitors to within one and TAMIU took their first lead with just under three minutes gone in the second, thanks to a layup by Tantashea Giger. Soon after, the junior hit two free throws and, 30 seconds later, she found an open Jaden Gonzalez, who sank a triple to give the Dustdevils a 12-6 advantage.

Giger added another layup and, after a Wilson free throw interrupted the run, Giger sunk another two-pointer. Russell answered by swishing a long jump shot, but when Passionate Amukamara closed out the first half scoring with a bucket in the paint, the Dustdevils took an 18-9 edge into the locker room.

THIRD QUARTER

The Dustdevil lead was quickly extended to 11 courtesy of Giger, but Wilson responded with her second basket of the night to move the deficit back to nine. The teams traded makes and then the Javelina offense came to life. Emmeri Archer converted a three-point play and Madison Crawford layed one up for a pair. When Victoria Salinas drained a trey, TAMUK was within one, but Julia Hanni responded with a triple of her own and the hosts were down by four.

Another make by Giger stretched that deficit to six. However, the Javelinas were undeterred. A three by Salinas and a foul shot by Debose brought the home team to within two and, after each side scored, Archer put TAMUK in front for the first time in the second half with a trey. A bucket by Salinas followed and, thanks to an 11-2 burst, Wade Scott's team took a two-point advantage into the fourth quarter.

FOURTH QUARTER

A jumper by Perez tied the game 90 seconds into the final period and Passionate Amukamara swished a three just over a minute later to put the Dustdevils back ahead. Following a three-point play by Giger, giving her 17 points on the night, the Hoggies answered. First, Wilson made a layup and, on TAMUK's next possession, Archer drew a foul and sunk both attempts from the charity stripe. Each team added a pair to make the score 39-37 with less than four minutes left, but a pair of fastbreak layups by the Dustdevils allowed them a six-point cushion with under two-and-a-half minutes to play.

Once again, the Javelinas, refused to go away. Two Debose free throws were followed by a three by Archer and the Javs were within one. The teams remained separated by a single point until 19.6 seconds remained and that's when Ibrahim's jumper gave her team the lead for the final time. Two free throws by Russell provided the final margin for TAMUK's third straight victory.

The Javelinas will have a couple days off before they return to action, facing Oklahoma Christian on Friday at 1:30 p.m. in San Angelo, Texas.
